The BT Giant Sleepover 2006

Here is a message from the organisers at the BT Giant Sleepover HQ

A really big THANK YOU to all of YOU from all of US here at HQ…

BRILLIANT NEWS!  Guinness World Records have verified that we have broken both World Records.
CONGRATULATIONS You are all World Record breakers and part of something really special!

The 9th Bracknell Scout Group joined in with the Giant Sleepover on June 17th and 18th 2006.

With 23 Beavers, 30 Cubs, 9 Scouts, 2 Explorers and 17 Leaders / Helpers from the 9th Bracknell Scout Group to break two world records.

Please give the slide show time to load as there are rather a lot of photo's, we will be putting a disk together with ALL the photo's on and this slide show in the next couple of weeks, if you would like a copy ( charge to be decided ) please let your Leaders know.

How it all started...and where we are going!

Its for FUN and FUNDRAISING.

The BT Giant Sleepover is an annual event that schools, scouts and guide groups can use a as a fundraiser. And it is an event where kids can have a great and memorable time with their friends before setting off for secondary school.

In 2 years it has grown bigger than the London Marathon...

2003 Mini Sleepover - Test

  • 10 schools and scout sleepovers
  • 423 participants

    2004 1st Giant Sleepover

  • 428 sleepovers in schools and scouts
  • 8,280 participants & WORLD RECORD

    2005 BT Giant Sleepover

  • 1,016 sleepovers in schools, scouts and guides (with over 600!)
  • 9 international sleepovers
  • 31,584 participants & New WORLD RECORD

    2006 BT Giant Sleepover

  • 2,000+ sleepovers across UK and international
  • Includes USA, Australia, India, Africa and Europe
  • Can we set another World Record
