Camp Reports from the Cubs
By Thomas Pawson
I really enjoyed the food and the maze, especially
the assault course - that was fun. There was the water-logged
net which you had to go under. On the first night
I was the first to go to sleep and the last one to
wake up. I really enjoyed it and I would recommend
it to anyone who likes adventure and fun.

When I got to the campsite I thought it was small
but it was quite big. At the start we had a site quiz
( a quiz about the site). Then we had dinner. Then
we had a night game, we had to find things in the
night game. Supper, bed. At night I didn't get any
sleep.
We woke up to a fresh cold start. Eat breakfast. After
breakfast we went into the woods to do some bivi building
(bivi building is where you build a shelter). We cooked
our own lunch over a campfire. Then we went to do
archery. Then we played with the earth ball - a giant
blown up ball that you push around. Dinner, night
game to do with the sword in the stone. Sleep, I got
a lot of sleep.
Breakfast, Scouts Own (religion), assault course ,
maze and rock climbing. Home.

At camp I liked doing the maze because when we finish
the activity I got lost. The other thing I liked was
when I fell in the muddy water. In my group that we
went in I was the only one who made it to the top
of the climbing wall. I absailed first, the thing
about absailing was that you had to start leaning
backwards and then moving down. I liked the earth
ball because when we got it in the air I had to jump
to push it the way we were trying to score. I got
bumped on the head and my fingers got bent back but
I survived. When I made a bivy some people got wet
but I positioned myself in a certain place so I would
not get wet. On some of the wide games we won but
one we came last. They were hard to find the answers
but when we played Kim's game we got 19 points on
one and 18 points on the other. When we cooked are
owne lunch I pealed the onions, it was very nice with
corned beef. We did a fancy dress but I wasen't one
of the winners. The campsite was called Walton Firs.
We did archery, I got not many points but got some.
One person got a ballzi it was very hard because you
had to bring the string write back to your face. When
we were doing tent inseckshion we came first. In the
washing up we weren't very good we came third or fourth.
One night we weren't very good because Philip wasn't
here. Before we went home we found out who won. The
Red Strike came third.

We arrived at camp and got into teams, our one was
called the Excalibers. On the first morning we had
woken at six-thirty. We played in our tent for awhile
the went to the hut. I got dressed and then had a
hot breakfast. My favourite games that day were bivvie
building, earth ball, archery, k\im's game and the
two wide games we played. The next day we played an
assault course, a maze and climbing and absailing.
The bad things were the singing we did, the smell
and waking up.

On Friday 7th September we started camp. We firstly
had to get are beds out for night-time. The next morning
we had to play a couple of games and then we had to
make or I should say cook our own lunch, it took a
little while but we soon got it going in the end.
Then after that we played the sword in the stone game,
The Merlins won and one of them became king - me of
course. The next day we played a wide game and then
went home.

For breakfast was sugarpuffs. I like the wide games
and on the 2nd day we played with a big ball which
was called the \earth ball and on our last day on
the obstacle course we went through a tunnel and the
n we had to swing over muddy water and then I had
to go back to the hut and change my clothes and then
I went in a maze and we had to go to a submarine and
when it was 4 o'clock we had to pack up our things
and we had to go home.

On Friday 7th September we went to cub camp. When
we got there we had to lug our luggage to our hut
but who were the Brownies in bunk beds. When we got
to the hut we had to put our stuff at the back of
the hut and then it was lunch. After lunch we started
activities then later on we had to unpack our beds.
Then the next day we did archery then lunch then bivvi
building, then earth ball, then camp fire then bed.
